Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott & Co, 1864. Hardcover. Very good. 12mo., 272pp. Brown cloth, gilt spine title and blind rules on beveled boards/ Chocolate coated endpapers. Some pencil notations, light wear to the edges and corners else a very good copy.

The major part of this small volume is devoted to Bridges' poems on many topics, including the American Civil War. At the end, though, are the complete cycle of her Arthurian poems which constitute Legends of the Round Table: Excalibur; Death of Lanceor; The Tomb of the Twelve Kings; The First Meeting Sir Launcelot and Queen Guinevere; Merlin's Grave; Sir Launcelot's Slumber; Beaumain's (truncated) Vow; The King and the Bard; The Love-Drink; The Best Knight; The Quest of the Sancgreal; The Last Meeting of Launcelot and Guinevere; Launcelot's Vigil; Avilion. These poems are wonderfully analyzed b the Lupacks in "King Arthur in America", Brewer, 1999.

Written in pencil on the title page, above the author's name, is "Mrs. Sallie Bridges" and, in another hand, "Nynes". There is a likelihood that this is signed by the author, though the addition of the last word is unclear.
