by Bohle, Hermann
London: Charles Griffin & Company, Limited, 1925. Cloth. Near Fine. xvi, 427 pages. 8vo. Publisher's maroon pebbled cloth with gilt titles. "With the authors compliments" inked on title page, and "Dec" added before 1925 at the base of the title page. "General Electric Review" stamped on front flyleaf (together evidence that this was probably an early review copy). A bright clean copy. Cloth. When the first edition of this work was published (1912) there were few treatises that examined the physiology and technical aspects of lighting that was being deployed throughout manufacturing enterprises, and was being taught to new engineers. The author credits General Electric Company of Schenectady with the rapid progress in this field during the previous ten years which necessitated a significant rewrite of the first edition.
The author Bohle was Professor of Electrotechnics at the University of Cape Town, a Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa, and a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. (Inventory #: 26994)
