Rare commemorative 1890 map of the famous Mangin-Goerck map 1803 of New York City. The first edition was officially commissioned by the City of New York after the Revolution. The grid plan design by the map maker was rejected by the City and the map was not used. Only a handful of examples survived. Includes a reference to 45 buildings and the Seal of the City. Excellent private dock notations in the East River. Richard Cooke (1829-1912) was a map and book dealer in lower Manhattan on New Church Street which had not been extended on the 1803 map.
