Washington DC: House of Representatives, 1848. First Edition. Map. Fair. Disbound wraps. 15 pages. Large folding map approx. 52" x 36" present. Some foxing to the blank page of the wraps. The map has several folds and creases with edge chips and small edge tears not affecting the contents. A small split on one the folds lower section of Florida (no loss of content). Text describes military advantages and more with the completion of the Railroad. T. Butler King was elected to House of Representatives in 1839 serving until 1950. From the New Georgia Encyclopedia: Thomas Butler King is remembered primarily as a planter/politician from coastal Georgia who labored with mixed success to improve the nation's nascent transportation and communication networks.
