The collection, spanning the 15th - 19th centuries. Volume I consists of 6,251 annotated entries. Volume II contains 336 plates (Size 11.5" X 9"). Each volume has a preface, in French, by Paul Gavault; Volume I has an introduction, in English and French, by the editors Volume II has an “Index des Planches" with the English, French, or German captions for the plates (size 11.5" X 9.5").
