London: Printed for S. Smith, T. Shepherd, et al. Book. Fine. Hardcover. First edition (no date, c. 1775). 16mo. [4], 116pp. Later three-quarter calf. Spine ends worn, outer hinges rubbed but solid. Some light foxing to first few leaves, less so scattered throughout. Lacking frontis. A very good copy. "Containing an entire Spick and Span New and curious Collection of Brilliant Jests, Frolicksome Joaks, Witty Quibbles, Arch Waggeries, Humorous Adventures...". The author was "President of the Wits Club, in Piccadilly, and great Grandson to the Famous Killegrew, Jester to King Charles the second, of Merry Memory." An early owner of this book has made a few neat manuscript comments at the end of certain passages. One passage reads, "Here lies wrapt in Clay, The body of William Wray: I have no more to say", to which our early owner writes, "On a good day." OCLC locates institutional copies. No copies at auction, ever..
