Fine content A.L.S. 4to. 1 page, personal letterhead, Yale University, New Haven, April 28, 1966, to a librarian in Pusan, South Korea, reflecting on the influence of public libraries have held on his life, in part: "...My mother was a small-town librarian for 28 years, and so I feel this with real conviction. She helped hundreds and hundreds of young people to develop an enthusiasm for reading - which, when all is said and done, is a pleasure that one makes for himself ... and always can have..."
