Secaucus, NJ: Citadel, 1977. First Edition. Signed by actor Charlton Heston beneath his printed name at the half-title. Oversize format, 8 3/4” x 11 1/4”, 224 pages, illustrated throughout. With tiny pencil stars to some of the film titles at the contents page, else a fine bright copy in a near fine dust jacket with a hint of handling and a few small tears. Laid in is an original 6 page printed credits list for the 1980 film The Awakening starring Charlton Heston, directed by Mike Newell, screenplay by Allan Scott, Chris Bryant and Clive Exton, based on the novel The Jewel of Seven Stars by Bram Stoker, and co-starring Susannah York, Jill Townsend, Patrick Drury, Ian McDiarmid, and Stephanie Zimbalist. The last of Heston’s profiled in this book is Two Minute Warning in which he co-stars with John Cassavetes, Martin Balsam., Beau Bridges, Gena Rowlands, Brock Peters, David Janssen, and Jack Klugman. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Film Editing. Some of Heston’s most memorable films include The Ten Commandments (1956), Ben-Hur (1959) for which he won a Best Actor Oscar, Planet of the Apes (1968), and Soylent Green (1973). In 1978 Charlton Heston received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. (Inventory #: 22196E)
