This work gives history of the desert, its explorers, rivers, plant life, reptiles, insects, birds, water and more. It also gives us information of Palm Springs, prospecting and mining, the Salton Sea, etc. A very nice clean set bound in beige cloth over light blue pictorial gilt cloth, spine lettering and top edges gilt, no names or bookplates, small bookseller ticket to rear board, some darkening to spines, sharp corners.[ Howes J-44].
