New York: The Viking Press, 1973. First Edition. Near Fine. First edition. A uniquely decorated copy, fully marbled in white, red, yellow, and green by Kesey on covers as well as edges. Painted inscription "For Keith / Ken Kesey" on front free endpaper. According his son Zane, Ken began experimenting with marbling techniques in 1964 while traveling on the bus FURTHUR and dropping acid for the first time. Oil paint floating in a puddle entranced the Merry Pranksters and they began dipping objects into the mixture, creating instant objet d'art. Later in his life Kesey returned to this technique, psychedelically marbling, finishing, and signing around 15-20 (truncated)
