by Hanson. Elizabeth
Dover: n.p., n.d.. Reprint. Wraps. Very good. Light blue stitched wraps. 15 pages. Title on the outer wrap. Double column printed text. Based on the paper and the print it appears this copy was printed later than the Dover, Delaware 1824 edition.
later printing of Howes H 171; Field 646 - "Mr. Rich must have taken this title orally from some cockney, as he speaks of the captive as Elizabeth Anson "The captivity took place in 1725, and a relation of it made in 1741 to Samuel Hopwood, about which time it was probably first printed." The third edition was printed at Danvers in 1780, it is therefore to be supposed that this is the fourth." The fourth edition Field is referencing is the London edition of 1787. (Inventory #: 15017)
