The brand of oral care products was created by Newell Sill Jenkins in 1908 and became extremely popular in the 1930s and 1940s. Among other things, it sponsored several well-loved radio programs and was mentioned in several classic literary works, including "The Catcher in the Rye" and "Midnight's Children."
