Although usually attributed to John Witherspoon, it is not included in his collected works, and the Dictionary of National Biography doubts the attribution. It has also been attributed to Henry Home (Lord Kames)--and to John Horne. Both boards contain advertisments. Bookplate of William H. Benedict. (Inventory #: 53407)
