Philadelphia: Rowley and Chew Fine Printers & Engravers, 1872. Front and back covers separated with minimal detraction; all held in place with string tie binding.. The dance card for the reception being held by Professor Asher and the American Academy of Music has information about the schedule of the evening and the order of dances, along with information on Prof. Asher's Dance Academy that would be starting classes soon. Each page has a decorative border and alternates between red and blue ink. It is kept together with a blue string. The covers depicts two scenes, on the back the women is getting ready and the front the women and man are walking together outside. Part I on the dance was to consist of Fancy Dances, Original March, March Quadrille and Waltzes by the Misses and Masters. The Part II Order of Dance includes 16 dances. Dance was followed by Supper. The dance card simultaneously provides the information needed for the even while also promoting the dance classes that will be starting soon. Measures 3 3/4" 2 1/2
