Pages 105-122 were ripped out of the ledger. Both end sheets and paste downs used for notes. Marbled paper covered boards with black leather back strip. Paper is rubbed and scuffed. Leather is chipped and coming loose at the head of the spine. Approx. 90 pages of content written in this ledger encompassing a wide range of activities such as shooting, fishing, hunting, reading, catching vermin, accounting, recording weather observations, a 6 month diary of events, farming, and more. Several unused sheets. Some pages have arithmetic calculations. Contents of this fascinating ledger include accounts of

According to Ancestry dot com Nathaniel Bertolet was listed in the eighth Congressional district in the 1863 registry as a farmer. The 1880 census states Bertolet, aged 58, lived in Amity, Berks, Pennsylvania. His occupation was also listed as a farmer. Bertolet died January 6, 1893 and was buried in Oley, Berks County, Pennsylvania. (Inventory #: 16223)
