A classic of Renaissance literature, containing 100 tales by numerous narrators, set in the time of Florentine's affliction with the Black Death. Title page vignette; engraved headpieces and initials. Previous owners' names on the front endpaper. Loss to the bottom of pp. 319/320, not affecting the text. Japanese tissue patches to the spine by a conservator. Incision to the leather binding of the rear cover. General shelfwear and minor soiling to the binding. ‘Bocace' written in ink on the top edge of the textblock. Full vellum. Very Good. 1060 pp. Very Good binding.
