Sight Note directing U.S. Commissioners in Paris to pay "At Thirty Days Sight of this Second Bill, First, Third and Fourth not paid, pay to William Northey, or Order, Eighteen Dollars, in Ninety Livres Tournois, for Interest due on Money borrowed by the United States." Countersigned by the Commissioner of the Continental Loan-Office in Massachusetts, Nath[aniel] Appleton. Hillegas (1729-1804) was the first treasurer of the United States. (Inventory #: 54430)
