Interesting book plate on the front paste-down from Margaret S. [Slade] and Edwin Paul Shattuck. Edwin Paul (1873-1964) was a wall street attorney, judge and a friend of President Herbert Hoover. The ownership inscription dated 1895 was no doubt a relative of Margaret.
