A New York edition published by Harper & Bros. preceded this by a year. This is the author's first book and the first American biography of Islam's founder, Mahommed. Bush, a graduate of Dartmouth and a student of theology at Princeton, was a Presbyterian missionary and later a professor of Hebrew and oriental literature at New York University.
