Originally published in 1890, this 1893 new edition of Emile Amélineau's masterpiece on the Geography of Coptic Egypt has never ceased to be a valuable source of information for Egyptology students and professors.

Émile Amélineau (1850-1915) was a French Coptologist, archaeologist and Egyptologist. His scholarly reputation was established as an editor of previously unpublished Coptic texts. But his reputation was destroyed by his work as a digger at Abydos, after Flinders Petrie re-excavated the site and showed how much destruction Amélineau had wrought.

Ex-library bookplate on inside of front cover, and pertinent printed notice on inside of back cover. Ex-library stamp to top and bottom edges. Binding and interior in overall very good condition.
