A photograph depicting the attendants of the third annual Edgar Allan Poe Awards dinner held at the Henry Hudson Hotel in New York City in 1949. Mildred Davis won that year for best novel for *The Room Upstairs*. Other writers and entertainers present were Eleazar Lipsky, Manfred Lee, Stanley Ellin, Veronica Parker Jones, W.T.
