by Roe. Alfred S.
Worcester, MA: Twenty-Fourth Veteran Association, 1907. First Edition. Octavo. 573pp., Portrait frontispiece and other photographic images and map. The author, a veteran of the Civil War, states...."This is not a history of the war, seldom generalizing, never moralizing nor discussing what might or what ought to have been, but always confining itself to what the officers and men of this regiment saw, said, thought and, above all, did." The book offers a listing of officers(commissioned and non-commissioned) the names of those within each company, those wounded, died or who survived along with a listing of men who enlisted but for all sorts of reasons were rejected, mostly because of bodily weakness or they simply deserted. A very good copy bound in blue cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt, wear to spine ends and corners.
