Beautiful binding in this deluxe edition, published the same year as the first edition. Illustrated plates signed by Goerge S. [Samuel] Elgood (1851-1943), an English painter known for his renditions of formal gardens. Elgood was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters, both the RI for water colors and the ROI for oil paints. The author, Reynolds Hole, was an author, horticulturist and an Anglican priest.
