1927. Large accordion bound folio, 14.5 x 17", 15 color prints on linen with some details finished by hand, brocade covered boards; minor corner wear, a couple small worm lines on edges with negligible effect to images, near fine in a very good purple cloth cover. Koide Toushou (1823-1889) was a member of the Japanese literati. By trade he was the publisher of the Shizuoka Newspaper. Like many of his peers he was also an amateur artist (in the sense that he did not need to debase himself by seeking money for his work), patronizing poets and painters as their apprentice. He studied under Takaku Ryuuko and Fukuda Hanko, both notable painters who can trace (truncated)
