Athens, Georgia: Self-Published [and] University of Georgia, 2000. Softcover. Near Fine. First edition [and] first expanded edition. Two volumes. F in the second volume. The first volume is the original self-published volume *Cracker in the Glade*, 1980 (octavo, printed wrappers, near fine). The second volume *Crackers in the Glade*, 2000 has a new foreword by Peter Matthiessen (oblong quarto, hardcover, fine in about fine dustwrapper).
Each volume describes the life of Everglades fishing guide and folk artist, Robert Storter, with Storter's artwork; the second volume contains recollections by and about him, and is edited by Storter's granddaughter, Betty Savidge Briggs.
The 1980 edition is Signed by Storter. The 2000 edition is Inscribed by Briggs. In the foreword by Peter Matthiessen, he notes, among much praise, that Storter had provided him with the best description of "Mr. Watson" he had ever come across. (Matthiessen wrote the trilogy that began with *Killing Mr. Watson,* and would become the National Book Award winning *Shadow Country*).
Each volume is uncommon signed, the self-published 1980 edition is rare. *OCLC* locates no copies of that edition.
