Brown faux leather boards with gilt spine text. White and brown jacket with illustration, "A Steer Outfit." Numerous black and white photographs and drawings, and several pages of color and black and white plates. Hinges are loose, but intact. Jacket shows numerous tears, some taped, small chipping and creasing. The artist's accounts of his life ranching in Montana, studying art in Chicago, serving in the Army, working as a professional artist back in Montana, etc. Ralston was (truncated) awarded a Gold Medal by the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in 1978 and inducted in 2012.
