Originally published in 1858, Thomas Forester's "Rambles in the Islands of Corsica and Sardinia" is a fascinating 19th-century travelogue detailing the author's journey to two of the largest and most important islands in the Mediterranean sea.

This work is complete with its nine lithographic plates (including the frontispiece and the (truncated) map of Corsica and Sardinia), as well as 39 in-text wood-engravings.

Moderate rubbing along edges of binding. Previous owner's prize bookplate on inside of front cover, and dated 1870. Minor and sporadic foxing to endpapers and fly leaves. Clear water-staining to upper margin of each lithographic plate (not affecting pages throughout). Binding in overall good to good+, interior in good+ to very good condition. (Inventory #: 46239)
