An albumen photograph of a major snowstorm in February 1898, showing a most wintry view of the State House and Boston Common, and a very early image of the Park Street Subway stop. The Park Street Station was one of three, along with the Public Garden and Boylston. The subway opened in the Fall of 1897, and this image from February 1898 must be one of the earliest. ~~15 1/2 cm. x 20 1/2 cm. mounted on chipped gray cardstock. (Inventory #: 289551)
