It describes in wonderful detail a seminal work by deceased American artist Andy Warhol depicting Mao Tse-tung (of China) that was created in 1972. This is a single-item catalog. In addition to the detailed description of this painting by Warhjol, there are also several essays on related subjects. These include one on the "Myth of Mao: Western Artists Take on Mao," by Brett Gorvy and Amy Gold. Also included is a review of Andy Warhol's Seminal 1974 Mao Exhibition, originally published in Arts Magazine m May 1974 . Finally, there is an interview of Andy Warhol by Glenn O'Brien originally published in High Times, August 24, 1977. Illustrated throughout with all sorts of ephemeral images of Mao, China and Warhol touring China. Also includes other paintings of Mao. It sold for over $17 million dollars.
