[Berks County, PA]?, 1865. As issued.. Very good.. A black and white cloth cockade surrounding a small framed tintype of Lincoln.
A rare survival. A school-child's mourning cockade for Lincoln. Accompanying the artifact is the following handwritten testimonial from the late 19th century: "All the Sunday Schools wore these badges for three months in memory of Lyncon [sic]. This is mine. Mrs. Margaret C Brown." Accompanied by a near contemporary paper box used to preserve it.
