Stolin, Belarus, 1917. Unbound. Near Fine. Oblong mounted photograph measuring 5" x 6.75" to a 9.5" x 12" board. The photograph shows a large group of citizens in a public square in Stolin, Belarus dated March 17, 1917. In the center of the image are eight uniformed men likely Russian Revolution militia. One of the men in the photo appears to be a revolutionary leader known to the locals as "M". The photo was taken by a Russian woman documenting the early days of the revolution. She later moved to China and used old backing from a Chinese photograph to mount the photograph. Additionally included is a small photograph captioned "Soviet headquarters.
