[Virginia City, Nevada]: [Kierski & Co’s Book Store], 1870. Very Good binding. A Christmas advertising card depicting a weary Santa, taking a much needed reading break. Printed for the Kierski & Co. Book Store in Virginia City, Nevada, from the 1870’s. Originally Prussian immigrants, William and his brother John Kierski operated a number of California book and stationary stores in Stockton, California, selling books, photographs, maps, and other items in addition to the ‘presents and toys’ here mentioned. They also very briefly opened a store on Victoria Island off the California West Coast, and later operated out of Virginia City, Nevada.
