Reverend Daniel Wise shares his thoughts, opinions, and "fraternal affection" on how women can live their best lives. His advice boils down to—you guessed it: Staying away from fops and clowns, shunning the material life for one of Biblical enrichment, maybe becoming a Sunday school teacher, etc. Interestingly, the advice is not completely hokey; Wise also encourages young ladies to practice self-reliance, courage, and confidence. This copy is most likely a reprint, given the mismatch of publisher names on the title page and frontispiece, and the 1895 inscription date; an exact edition and publication date are otherwise difficult to ascertain. (Inventory #: 47154)
