Frontispiece illustration engraved by Isaac Taylor from a drawing by Isaac Taylor, Jr. Spine label title reads "Caliph Vathek" . Bound in contemporary polished calf, intricate decorations in gilt back, triple gilt rules bordering covers, all edges gilt, dark blue end papers with period small label " Sold by Geo. Clarke Bookseller...". Very Good, corners a bit rubbed and bumped, gilt dulled, two early prior owner names in ink, moderate toning verso of frontispiece illus., lighter toning scattered throughout, early pencil notation rear end page, rear hinge starting...
