"The Face of Edgar Allan Poe is the first volume in a series and will be followed by volumes on Mark Twain, Thoreau, Whitman, Emerson, and Melville. Two hundred and fifty copies were printed in New York, in the spring of 1959, from the original woodcuts on hand mae Goyu paper from Japan, by Igal Roodenko, James Lanier and Antonio Frasconi.
