By Rattan, Volney
San Francisco: A.L. Bancroft, 1879. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. 106 pp, in publisher's dark red pebbled cloth. Corners bumped and rubbed, otherwise a very nice copy, unmarked and sound. Contains "brief descriptions of over five hundred species of plants known to grow in the region bounded on the west by the coast line from Monterey Bay to Mendocino County and on the east by the foothills of the Sierra Nevada." It is indexed, but, alas, not illustrated. Uncommon in the first edition.
