His Atlas of Head Sections, published the same year, was intended to supplement and illustrate Pyogenic Infective Dseases. This copy of the Atlas was once owned by British surgeon George Grey Turner, for whom "Turner's sign"--local areas of bruising and induration of the skin about the navel and loins in hemorrhagic pancreatitis--is named."
