London: Tuck, 1912. Very good.. Nice copy of a rare and fragile Wain title, a shape cat book and title in Father Tuck's Hurrah series. Known as "The Edwardian Cat Artist That Went Mad," Wain was once "the most famous cat artist on earth" (Haining). His work in conceiving an entire Catland inspired the creators of Felix the Cat and even Mickey Mouse. 14.25'' x 8.25''. Original stiff pictorial card boards with top die-cut in a cat shape. Illustrated by Wain with color boards, 4 large and incredible full-page color illustrations of cats at play, and great line illustrations on all other pages. Expert repairs to spine and edges of boards.
