A handsome copy of this novel by the celebrated Brazilian author, scarce in collectible condition and in the first edition/first printing. This book is in very good condition with a square tight binding and bright spine lettering, but does show minor rubbing and sunning to the board edges, some darkening to the text block, and a PO signature to the front free paper. Housed in a very good dust jacket that is crisp and clean but does show a moderate overall foxing, some mild rubbing and chipping to the spine ends, corners, and edges, and some light spotting to the panels.
