John O'Hara, October 16, 1935" Anne Haight was author, essayist, adventurer and bibliofile, who with her husband Sherman Haight enjoyed an international circle of friends and associates in fields of commerce, the arts and humanities and book collecting. The pressed titles on the spine are solied/dulled and the polished cloth is rubbed a bit. Internals near fine. A solid copy; the inscription from one swell to another. Butterfield 8 was O'Hara's second novel, which caused quite a stir when published. The 1960 movie version got Elizabeth Taylor her first Oscar and put the old NY telephone exchange in pop-culture forever.
