Giesu Chriso, [Considerations on the Whole Life of Our Savior Jesus Christ], authored by Bartolomeo RICCI, and published by Bartolomeo Zanetti in Rome, 1607. Double matted print, outside mat dimensions: 13" x 10"; mat opening: 6 5/16" x 4 3/16"; leaf (sheet) size: 7 3/8" x 5". Plate line visible. Bartolomeo Ricci (1542-1613) was an Italian Jesuit priest, and author of many devotional books as well as an interpreter of the Gospels. This print from his book on the life of Jesus Christ was meant to convey the entirety of Christ's crucifixion in picture-form. Descriptive text is found on the verso of the engraving. The print has been matted in such a way that both sides of the leaf are visible. Archivally double-matted with a hand-applied gilt border.
