1930 · [Oklahoma City?]
by McArthur, R. A. aand Black Gold Petroleum Company
[Oklahoma City?]: R. A. McArthur, 1930. Near Fine. Black Gold" is a nicely produced oblong booklet full of photos and some text. 28 x 20 cm. The second item is also nicely produced and reproduces ten favorable letters from his lawyer, various suppliers and businesses involved in drilling for McArthur. Laid in is a printed form letter promoting his honesty and acumen which has been dated by typewriter as May 22, 1931 and addressed by name to someone in Waterbury, Conn. who was an investor or potential investor. We found only snippets of information online about McArthur and a company with which he was involved. The company, referred to as Black Gold Oil & Refining Company in the first item, does not see to have thrived and most or all of its assets appear to have been distributed to McArthur as part of a complicated and rather opaque arrangement in 1933 or so. We don't know what happened after that.
