The Whippo-Wil [4 issues, apparently the entire run]

Detroit, MI: Laurence Labadie, 1912. First four issues of the publication, each consisting of a single sheet folded to make a four-panel newsletter, 5.5x7 inches, all evenly toned, some light soiling, generally very good condition except for No. 2, which is worn and soiled with a large pencil scribble on the front wrap, extensive pencil notations on the rear wrap, and three small holes which extend through all pages. Boy's newspaper published by the 13-14 year old Labadie and friends. Contents are short adventure stories, jokes, and limericks, plus ads for local businesses, including his father's printing shop. Labadie, the son of anarchist printer and (truncated) writer Jo Labadie, would grow up to be an anarchist writer in his own right. Only 3 copies in OCLC as of 9/2020, none going beyond number 4.
