After overseeing the Galician offensive on Kiev, Tarnavskyi's army was annihilated by a typhus epidemic, forcing him to negotiate armistice with the Lieutenant General of the Imperial Russian Army Anton Denikin. As the arrangement was not officially sanctioned by the Ukrainian Leadership, Tarnavskyi was court-martialed in November of 1919. The current book, written by Second Lieutenant of the Ukrainian Army Dmytro Mykytiuk, described the court proceedings for relieving Tarnavskyi of his duty. (Inventory #: 002806)
