The letter inquires of the publisher "whether it would not be better, when I bring the account of Greece to a conclusion in the fourth volume, there to finish this work; and announce our intention of publishing my Travels in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Lapland, + Finland, in a separate and independent publication?" It also explains why he does not want to write his own biographical notes. Also indicated are directions to Mr. Whittow and to Miss Byrne respecting the last Proof. Dated Thursday April 14 and signed "E. D. Clarke". Addressed simply "William Davies Esq" with part of the original red wax seal intact.
