Sewn self-wrappers, stitched. 26 pages 1844 reprint of original 1620 pamphlet part of Force's Collection of Historic Tracts, volume 3, no. 6. Peter Force's greatest achievement came as a collec and editor of historical documents. He published Tracts and Other Papers, Relating Principally to the Origin, Settlement, and Progress of the Colonies North America (4 vols. Washington, 1836-1846). This early seventeenth centur document "Partly ordained vpon mature deliberation by the treasvror, Covnseil and Companie of Virginia: for the better gouerning of the actions and affaire of the said companie here in England residing: Anno 1619 and 1620." This is first constitution for the colony of Virginia which established the first legislative assembly in the new world which met at Jamestown in 1619. Very good. (Inventory #: 40643)
