Original dark brown paper covered boards with heavy rubbing to extremities. Spine is beginning to separate from boards, but remains attached and functional. Original stamped spine label intact. Binding protected in custom stiff archival mylar. Minor to moderate foxing and toning of paper scattered throughout text; final leaf of text is heavily creased. Lacking the first plate; The folding plate, titled "Tab[le] II" is slightly stained with minor misfolding and a small tear to bottom margin; intact and bright color showing 113 examples of coloring. Several other pages with minor staining to margin. Contemporary owner's name on front endpaper "Demetrio Abraamovitz Pittore 1836". Book published in German language in Gothic type. Title translates (roughly) into English "The School of Drawing [Painting]...with 2 illuminated copper plates. On how to be a painter in 3 hours and to read the works of the famous masters of color [palette] without having learned the art of drawing".
