Very Good/Near Fine/No Jacket. 2 Volumes. 502pp, 578pp. Sharp First Edition, First Printing, without the dedication in the front of Volume 1 which appeared in the second printing. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering and decorations stamped in red, silver and gilt. With dedication to Wallace's father. Square, tight and clean throughout. Some light wear to edges and tips. Mild rubbing to hinges. Paper split in gutter of Volume 1 but hinge solid and un-cracked. A bit of scattered spotting to end-papers and paste-downs but quite minor. Page edges just starting to tone.
