Explains Mrs. McMillen, "This book was written for an interested layperson, like myself. While on sabbatical in the UK in 1987, I took a course at Christ Church College, at Oxford called the ''English Collection'. As we had to write a paper on some facet of a stately home, I chose tapestries as my topic. I found the subject fascinating. When we returned home, my husband and I continued to study tapestries. We were visiting the Vanderbilt Estate in Hyde Park, New York, where I tried to identify a weaver's mark on a tapestry. I was sure I could find the information I was seeking, but no book was to be found. Thus began my research which became Tapestry: A Full Circle. BOOKS Ackerman, Phyllis.
