Progressive weekly founded in support of the 1948 Progressive Party campaign of Henry Wallace for President. Much coverage of the post-WWII nascent Civil Rights movement with left wing responses to the rise of McCarthyism. As she decades progress the National Guardian becomes a paper of the new anti-Vietnam War movement.
